Computer embroidery thread stitch types

There are only three stitches you need to consider in computer embroidery:

1. Stitch filling - multiple columns of stitches are arranged to fill the entire area; forming a closed pattern.

2. Ribbon stitch or punch stitch - A series of back and forth zigzag stitches forming letters, lines or narrow ribbon shapes (1mm to 7mm); such as most text or borders wider than 1mm.

3. Flat stitch or single stitch - a single straight line that shows the details of the stitch. Used to outline smaller patterns and lines narrower than 1mm in width, or to move stitches from one pattern to another.
