Rayon will lose 30% to 50% of its strength when it is wet, so you need to be careful when washing. The strength can be restored after drying (modified viscose rayon-HWM viscose fiber, does not have this problem), the elasticity of rayon , The recovery power is poor, it will shrink significantly after washing, and it will also be moldy and borer.
Polyester:
1. High strength. The short fiber strength is 2.6~5.7cN/dtex, and the high strength fiber is 5.6cN/dtex polyester.
8.0cN/dtex. Due to its low hygroscopicity, its wet strength is basically the same as its dry strength. Its impact strength is 4 times higher than nylon and 20 times higher than viscose fiber.
2. Good elasticity. The elasticity is close to that of wool, and it can almost completely recover when stretched by 5% to 6%. The wrinkle resistance is better than other fibers, that is, the fabric does not wrinkle and has good dimensional stability. The elastic modulus is 22~141cN/dtex, which is 2~3 times higher than nylon.
3. Heat resistance and thermal stability are the best among synthetic fibers.
4. The surface of polyester is smooth and the internal molecules are tightly arranged.
5. Good wear resistance. The wear resistance is second only to nylon, which has the best wear resistance, and is better than other natural fibers and synthetic fibers.
6. Good light resistance. Lightfastness is second only to acrylic.
7. Corrosion resistance. It has good corrosion resistance to bleaches, oxidants, hydrocarbons, ketones, petroleum products and inorganic acids. Resistant to weak alkali, not afraid of mold, but can be decomposed by hot alkali.
8. The dyeability is poor, but the color fastness is good and it is not easy to fade.
Shrinkage:
Shrinkage is closely related to the composition of the fabric, the fiber properties of the fabric, the fabric structure and processing technology. The hygroscopicity of various fibers is different. Fibers with high hygroscopicity have a large shrinkage rate, and conversely, natural fibers such as cotton, wool, silk, and linen have a high hygroscopicity and a large shrinkage rate. Hygroscopic fibers such as polyester and polypropylene have a large shrinkage rate. Tight tissue structure will also affect the shrinkage of fabrics. Fabrics with loose structure will shrink more than fabrics with tight structure. The shrinkage rates of some common fabrics are provided for reference. Pure cotton mercerized plain fabric: shrinkage rate is 3.5%, weft direction 3.5%; pure cotton mercerized twill fabric: shrinkage rate is 4%, weft direction 3%; pure cotton plain weave fabric: shrinkage rate is 6%, weft direction 2.5%; general Worsted wool: shrinkage to 4% in the weft direction, to 3.5%; silk crepe de chine to 10%, to 3% in the weft direction.
